As museums are open again, the exhibition Reflecting Reflections by Natalia Ossef is on show at Centraal Museum Utrecht. How the past permeates the presence, wondered Ossef during the creation of these new works. The exhibition runs until 12 September and is accompanied by an essay written by Hanne Hagenaars.
The central work in the exhibition Rephrase is the video Relay. In a kinetic gown which Wibmer painstakingly hemmed herself, the performers – friends of the artist – conjure a wealth of references, for which each draws on their personal cultural and physical memories. By editing the video images Margret Wibmer has created a movement composition that resembles a show inside a ‘Black box.’
The installation Safe Piece is a new step in the project of the same name, which started with a series of performances and was captured in a film. The works address artistically a scope of ideas and issues that grew from the original question: how to combine being a parent and keep working as an artist?
From February 7, Movement Exposed Gallery Space presents a project conceived on the cutting edge of different art disciplines and technology.
