In collaboration with Gaudeamus Festival and EKWC
8 September – 1 October 2022
Aural Record is an installation and a performance, but most of all a process of exploration through ceramics as ingredients for a new musical recipe. In this project, pianist Nicoletta Favari and percussionist Christopher Salvito from the Passepartout Duo have sought to let the sounds of physical spaces interact with the voices of invisible magnetic fields through the very simple ceramic forms present in the installation.
This ‘little world of tubes and spirals’ consists of three rocking structures, small ceramic pieces emitting electromagnetic fields, and resonating tube formations that will be activated with microphones. Aural Record was developed during a summer residency at the Europees Keramisch Werkcentrum (EKWC), supported by the Gaudeamus Festival.
The installation of the Passepartout Duo is still on show at the gallery until 1 October. You can try the installation with ceramic and wooden objects, electromagnetic fields and mic yourself or come and watch the footage of the live performance by Nicoletta Favari and Christopher Salvito. .
Three short performances were presented at the night of September 8th as part of Gaudeamus Festival. The installation is still on show at the gallery.
