From the oeuvre that Deen van Meer built up over more than thirty years, he made a selection for the book We Are Such Stuff as dreams are made of (2022). Spanning various disciplines such as dance, theatre, opera and musicals, Van Meer presents poignant portraits, refined movement constructions and captivating scenes. Arnon Grunberg wrote an essay for the publication. A number of photographs from the book will also be on show during the exhibition.
During the exhibition, we are offering We Are Such Stuff at a reduced price of €40.
Framed photograph of your choice from We Are Such Stuff + book €295.

With the exhibition Dance Scapes, Deen van Meer explores parallels between dance performances he has photographed and landscapes. The interaction between wandering through contemporary stagings by choreographers and directors, newly created worlds that he only enters just before the premiere of a performance, and traversing impressive landscapes during his travels, reveals common ground. The conditions under which he photographs are also important – Van Meer has no influence on the light and there is no direct relationship with the subject, whether it be a live performer or a natural phenomenon. The captured images show similarities, sometimes in form, sometimes in atmosphere or colour.
The relationship between landscape and photography has long fascinated the photographer. During the exhibition, he will show a selection of theatre photography alongside dance and landscape photographs.
